Cornish drivers took all the major honours at the JB Taylor Sporting Trial winning the event and all the classes.

Young Thomas Bricknell excelled all day in his maiden event driving his Crosslé to win in only his fifth sporting trial, despite being challenged all day by reigning national champions Duncan Stephens and John Fack.

Bricknell led from the first section producing some brilliant climbs and withstood tremendous pressure, in the heat, from Stephens who conceded by just two points. Fack was following Bricknell but just couldn’t match him and ended up a distant third, his worst result of the season.

Roland Uglow won the intermediate class loosing fourth overall on a tie-decider from Roger Bricknell. Another superb drive of the day was produced by Alan Eady, who in his first event won the novice category and took a superb eleventh overall beating four past event winners.
