Ian Wright led all day to win on under half Simon Kingsley's score.

Ian Wright gradually extended a winning margin all day at the Derbyshire Sporting Trial. Roland Uglow was his closest challenger before slipping back to third during the afternoon, with Simon Kingsley finishing second, Monty Peters excelled in his live-axle Apex to win the intermediate class in a fantastic fourth overall. Ian Bell was an early challenger too, finishing fifth, ahead of John Fack who was sharing Mark Sewards MSR awaiting delivery of his new car. Jim Davidson won the novice class.
