Steve Courts won his first trial of the year at the Pete Fear Pinford sporting trial on Sunday, following the four-month summer break. Early leader Simon Kingsley made two very costly mistakes during the afternoon to finish third, while Duncan Stephens took this lead until the final section but finished fourth in a field of twenty-seven.

With Courts winning by the smallest of margins of a single point, the next three were all tied with reigning British champion John Fack finishing second on count-back.

In dry but challenging conditions the top six dominated the trial with Roland Uglow winning the intermediate class finishing fifth overall from John Ridley. David Rance continued is spring form to win the novice class from Alan Ede.
