Mercian - Coventry & Warwickshire

The top three were very closely matched at the first championship running of the Mercian Sporting Trial, with Julian Fack winning the trial from Duncan Stephens on most zero's having tied on points. British championship leader Ian Wright dropped back a little in the afternoon but still finished third. Returnee Ian Bell had a very good day to finish fourth in surprisingly dry conditions. Jerome Fack won the intermediate class from David Rance, while Tom Rees once again won the novice class from Andrew Bell who was sharing his dad's car. Monty Peters was top live axle car in fifteenth overall.
