2006 BTRDA® Gold Star® Champions

Derbyshire - Lancashire & Cheshire Car Club

Date: 20th April 2008

Ian Wright won his first British championship trial in his Sherpa Indy gradually opening out a lead over Duncan Stephens and John Fack, during the 65th running of the Derbyshire Trial.

Wright held a small lead over Stephens at lunch but an inspired afternoon saw this stretched to nine points, with Fack another thirteen behind. Steve Courts followed his good result at this Gold Star site with an excellent fourth. Stephen Barnes won the intermediate class from Mark Milne, finishing seventh, both in Sherpa's. Roger Bricknell was sent from Cornwall with Thomas' Crossle and finished just outside the top ten despite the fiddle brakes been on the "wrong side". The novice class was won by Ian Evitt just ahead of Bill Sherras. Janette Rowlatt became the first lady to compete in a BTRDA® trial in over twenty years in Lancashire & Cheshire Car Club's seventy-fifth year.
