Roy Fedden - Bristol MC

Date: 11th November 2007

Duncan Stephens end up a dominant winner in the woods at Bath, but the story could have been so different.

Stephens produced a steady error free day to win with just two marks dropped on his debut at the Roy Fedden trial. Passenger Andy Gowen won the trial for the second successive year having won with John Fack in 2006. However Jon Moores borrowed a Kincraft and finished second and would have won but for a stall mid-section just before lunch. Stephen Barnes finished off the podium for his best result of 2007. John Fack won a tie-break with brother Julian for fourth one point further back. Roland Uglow finished sixth but completed the trial in near dark condition and could hardly see where the poles were and had a costly seven on his last hill. Thomas Bricknell won the novice class, again, in tenth in very dry conditions from Dave Rance who was complaining of not concentrating hard enough and making some stupid mistakes, like many others.

Stephens' win hots up the contest for the MSA championship with John Fack's lead down to a single point, and with just two events left all is to play for...........what this space!
