2006 BTRDA® Gold Star® Champions

Season Continues....

Added: 17th August 2007

The BTRDA® and MSA British Sporting Trials championships recommence on Sunday 2nd September at the Pete Fear Pinford trial, following a four-month summer season break.

Leading the BTRDA® championship is Julian Fack, who has changed the engine in his X-Factor to a lightweight Suzuki 1300 Swift. Meanwhile fourth placed Ian Wright has been busy building and developing his new Sherpa trials car with many new design ideas throughout the car.

Last year's MSA British champion John Fack is looking to close the gap on Duncan Stephens, who won the BTRDA® title, as they both continue to campaign Crossle's. The spring saw young Thomas Bricknell commence trialing in a new Crossle, winning two of the last four trials, so is likely to be a threat for the remainder of the season.

John Fack commented: "It's great to see young guys, in particular Stephens and Bricknell, competing so successfully and enjoying themselves so much. It's wonderful to see the next generation of competitive guys developing the broad range of skills required so quickly."

Following a two year sabbatical, four time BTRDA® champion Calvin Kneebone returns to the sport, back in his Kincraft, and will be showing he has lost none of his determination to win.

Leading the intermediate class is Roland Uglow who will be especially looking forward to the third event of September, the Robin Alexander trial, at his farm in Delabole, Cornwall.

David Rance, in his debut season, leads the novice class following a number of excellent top ten results but over the second half of the season will prove to be challenged by Bricknell to name but a few.

With sporting trials been a team-based sport a separate championship is run for passengers to recognise their invaluable assistance to the driver. Andy Gowen leads the class based championship energetically passengering Duncan Stephens with Meg Marrion a close second with Julian Fack.

With championship events spread throughout the country in September there is no excuse for not experiencing the tremendous skill of all sporting trials drivers.
