Competitors in the BTRDA® Clubmans Rallycross Championship have had two rounds of their nine-event series, round two having taken place at Blyton a fortnight ago. There is no Superfinal in the BTRDA® championship, the classes are regarded equally and the driver with the highest points score at the year end is the overall champion. After two events there are joint leaders in the championship, Stock Hatch racer Dave Baines and Junior Ben Rennison each having won twice so far.At Lydden in round one there was a SuperModified win for David Brown and his Mazda RX7. Stuart Coldron was second with newcomer Vince Bristow landing third place. Ian Thorndyke was best of the Minicross drivers in the event. Baines landed his first A final win in Stock Hatch where he led home Gary Johnston and Dave Martin. Rennison led the Junior Rallycross pack in both qualifying and the A final in which he finished ahead of George Tracey Jnr. and Samantha Thom. Russ Simpson managed to patch up his car after its earlier crash and took a good fourth place.
Rennison dominated at Blyton, setting fastest times in all three heats and leading the A final from start to finish. Simpson made it a close race and Connor Flynn enjoyed a strong debut event by finishing in third place. SuperModified champion Asa Fatchett made his first appearance of the year and took the class win. Ash Simpson qualified on pole for the Stock Hatch A final, Richard Horton starting second after being fastest in the second heat. Baines started from third on the grid but got the best start and led the final throughout. Simpson ran a close second all the way while Gary Johnston took third ahead of Dave Martin and Craig Brown.
