AutoSOLO Challenge Grand Final

Despite the initial damp conditions a great day was has by all negotiating the tests designed by Duncan Wild. Just to prove that you can't keep a good man down, past BTRDA Autotest Champion Malcolm Livingston came out in the trusty Lotus 7 to take FTD although he was given a good run for the money by the very quick Liam Rollings in his 998 Mini who just pipped Autotester Paul Fobister in a Caterham 7 by 1.2 secs!

Class A saw the biggest entry with cars ranging from venerable Hillman Imps to Fiestas and was taken by Liam from Kevin Hardwick who was delighted to have pushed Jamie Yapp down to third. This was, however, sufficient to see Jamie crowned Challenge Champion at the end of the event.

Class B ended within Carl Streatfield in his MX5 taking the honours from Adrian Read, who, during the week, had bought a Mini One from the ex-Olympic swimmer Sharon Davies to compete in, obviously hoping that it would be used to the wet conditions!

Our website designer Sam Lorenzelli proved that he does not just manipulate the keyboard by putting up an impressive performance in his Scirocco not only to win Class C from Steve Woodings in a Honda S2000 but to finish 4th overall.
